In its 60 years of untiring service to Nation, OCL has always given priority to community development. In its endeavor to uplift the conditions of poor and hapless tribals of this locality, OCL has undertaken various developmental activities in peripheral areas of its plant at Rajgangpur and Captive Mines at Lanjiberna.

| Livelihood Training |
| It is well said that “teach people how to fish rather than giving them fish.” With this principle in mind, we organize various Livelihood Training Program on a continuous basis. We are: |

Operating a training centre “SWAYAMPRABHA” in Lanjiberna where poor and destitute tribal ladies are provided free training on tailoring, embroidery, dress designing etc. After completion of training, each of them are provided a swing machine at 50% cost. The centre has so far imparted training to 80 ladies. Most of them are earning their livelihood by stitching garments. |

Organising short term training program on “Driving-cum-Mechanic” & “Masonry Work” for unemployed youths at Dalmia Industrial Training Centre, Rajgangpur free of cost. |
